Course Title: XPS Foam Waterproofing Shower Systems for Tiled Showers, Baths, and Wet Areas
AIA Credit: 1 LU/HSW

Moisture related problems, from both installation issues and natural causes, are the leading source of tile application failures.  This course  will focus on using Cement Coated XPS to completely manage that moisure, while also offering a high performance tile substrate.  Some of the major areas of emphasis will include shower floors and walls for both residential and commercial applications.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES 

• The characteristics of Extruded Polystyrene Foam (XPS) and its uses in tile applications.

• The types of products tha can be produced with Cement Coated XPS, and how these products create a 100% waterproof tile application.
• The effects of water and/or moisture damage to tile applications that are not 100% waterproof.
• The proper instalation methods associated with Cement Coated XPS substrates, and how these methods offer a 100% waterproof application.
